Blue gum the “Rolls Royce” of woodchips

KIPT plantations on Mt Taylor Road

A report on the ABC has highlighted the importance of blue gum forestry to Australia and also acknowledges the “hangover” from the failure of the Managed Investment Schemes pre-2008 and the effect those schemes had on rural communities.

KIPT acknowledges that forestry on Kangaroo Island has a chequered history but we look forward to the Island becoming a significant contributor to this valuable Australian industry.

This report also acknowledges the sustainability of forestry, benefits to the environment through carbon sequestration, its value as a diversification crop for farmers and the growing world demand for Australian wood chips.
